About

How it all began

I have always been fascinated by the teachings of the Buddha and truly believe that they can bring peace to one's mind and the world.

In 2019, I was fostering homeless cats and there were many cats who were coming and going from my home. There was a cat who did not get fostered and I eventually adopted him. He was very thin when he first came. I fed him and gradually he grew up to be a fine and healthy cat. He is a very calm cat. He loves to chill with me whenever I am drawing. He looks majestic like a lion, thus I named him 'Siha', meaning 'lion' in Pali language.

The idea of having a cat as a protagonist was then somehow born, and together with other stray cats living in the neighbourhood, they are on a journey to seek happiness by following the Dhamma.

I hope that people will find these comics practical and useful, as I truly believe that Siha can bring out the goodness in people and bring them peace and happiness. I believe that at the root of all evil and suffering is just ignorance. Thus I hope to focus on teaching people the Dhamma, because with wisdom, suffering can truly end.

As Siha the Wise continues to be available online and new content published every week, the next project is the first book of “Siha the Wise”, containing favorite posts with more original drawings and content.

Thank you for supporting and joining me on this spiritual journey!

May you be well and happy.

Any books to recommend if I want to learn more about Buddhism?

There are plenty of beginner books on Buddhism. For people who wants to read the suttas, they can get the book 'In the Buddha's Words: An Anthology of Discourses from the Pali Canon' translated by Bhikkhu Bodhi. It is not really for beginners, but it can be the first step to knowing more about Buddhism.

For others you can try books by Ajahn Brahm, Thich nhat hanh, Bhante Gunaratana, Wapola Rahula.
